BYS vision is New Futures for Young People. We support young people and their children who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, to secure and maintain housing, address physical and mental health challenges, establish successful relationships and support networks, and access pathways to education and employment.
This full-time or part-time role of Safe Relationships Manager supports our mission by managing the delivery of the K.I.N.D Program which works with young people (15-25yrs) using violence in relationships, including their partners and/or family members.
You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you have:
• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or comparable qualification OR substantial demonstrated experience in a related field.
• Proven experience supporting young people, with deep understanding of the complex issues driving youth homelessness.
• Experience working with young people who use violence, grounded in a gendered and trauma-informed understanding of domestic, family, and sexual violence.
• Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment and navigating integrated DFV service systems to ensure coordinated, safety-focused responses.
• Strong knowledge of intersectional risk factors such as mental health, AOD use, trauma and housing instability affecting both young people using violence and victim survivors.
• Experience leading, with the ability to manage a team of senior practitioners, fostering a positive team culture, and driving performance and accountability.
