We are currently seeking applications for a permanent, part time (45 hours a fortnight) Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Worker within the Stopping Family Violence program, located from our Cairns venue.
Due to professional practice standards set out by the Queensland Government relating to working with perpetrators of domestic and family violence, being a male practitioner is a necessary requirement of this role.
The purpose of this role is to facilitate group programs for male perpetrators of domestic and family violence, with a strong focus on promoting the safety and well-being of their partners, families, and the broader community. Additionally, the role involves providing individual counselling on a needs basis to support personal accountability and behaviour change. A key aspect of this position is also the development and delivery of educational programs designed to raise community awareness about the impacts of domestic and family violence and promote prevention strategies.
